Snow in Austin

See that white stuff on the ground...That is snow! Yep, right here in Austin we received about a half an inch to an inch of the white stuff yesterday!

As soon as I got home I grabbed the camera and took a couple of shots just in case it melted overnight

I like these shots....but....

I am much fonder of shots taken in natural light where I don't have to use the flash.

As I write this, the snow is almost gone and the temperatures are headed up into the mid 50s today and should hit 60 tomorrow.

Gotta love Austin!

Worry Stones

I first ran into the thought of  "worry stones" while hosting a retreat. The idea is to take your stone and hold it, caress it and transfer your worries to it. It can be a good meditation practice, and if nothing else, is very soothing and relaxing. These are my worry stones after I hung them up declaring the day "worry free"!

No Snow in Texas

As the Northeastern US endures some major snow this weekend, Texas is actually seeing some sun for the first time all week. Here is some of it reflecting off of a Texas Snowflake (the kind made out of plastic).

Journaling

I try to take out a few minutes each day to write a few words about how the day is going in my little journal. Am I happy or sad, excited or bored?  I am wondering....... do you use your blog for an outlet or do you keep a secret notebook with all your hopes and fears??

By the way, today in my journal it says  excited, nervous and "New Job!". I actually am going back into the "full time employee" world starting in 2 weeks. Luckily, I am using my picture a day as the focus for my blog so I am hoping that it won't effect my blogging toooooo much.

Crocheting...

I am trying to make an effort to get crocheting again...so many things I have started that need to get finished. For now it is a flower garland to get my fingers moving again.

After this, I hope to get back to the unfinished burnt orange and red white and blue afghans.

Where Did January Go?

I can't believe January is gone already.....I am so glad that I have joined the Blog Camp 365 POD. When I look at these pictures I actually can see where the month went!
