Wildflower on a Breezy Day
I know...I need to stop with the flowers but they are just everywhere saying "take a picture of me, take a picture of me". So at the end of the day most pictures in my camera are either flowers or Dory.
I took this yesterday at a local park. There was a good breeze and I really enjoyed trying to catch the petals blowin' in the wind.

Wildflower Week - Day II
Indian Paintbrush...
This is the first year I have really "looked" at other wildflowers in the area besides the bluebonnet and Indian paintbrush. So, I am learning and researching what the others are. Obviously, bringing a notebook with me when I was taking the pictures would have been way too easy....Next time maybe...For now, I'll check out the Image Gallery on the Wildflower Center website OR, maybe someone out there can help out?? Pretty please??
The park actually has a podcast you can download before you go, or you can listen via your smartphone when you get there. It explains about the different areas of the park and includes a special welcome recorded by Lady Bird herself in 1995.

My Wildflower Week
Texas Bluebonnet
On Saturday I took a drive way to South Austin to pay a visit to the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center.
As per the brochure:
"The Center's gardens, open almost every day to the public, display the native plants of Texas with a focus on the Central Texas Hill Country..."
and let me tell you...we are having a wonderful wildflower season this year!
I took tons of pictures...So here in my little corner of the internets I am declaring it
Wildflower Week!
"Wildflowers and native plants are as much a part of our natural heritage as Old Faithful or the Capitol Building" Lady Bird Johnson
