What a Difference a Few Hours Make

Although the mornings are cloudy and in the 50s

The afternoons are sunny and near 70

The perfect weather for the neighborhood's Fairy Garden

With such beautiful color,

It makes it hard to believe it's not summer anymore.

Autumn in Arcata

293/365 Autumnal Light

Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees....
Are we not better and at home
In dreamful Autumn, we who deem
No harvest joy is worth a dream?
A little while and night shall come,
A little while, then, let us dream...
~Ernest Dowson (1867–1900), "Autumnal"

Bigfoot Country

289/365 - Bigfoot Country
It was a beautiful day for a drive along the Klamath River. I had Arty, the great Bigfoot hunter,  with me to keep his eye open for Bigfoot. Legend says that the forest along the stretch of road we were driving is one of his favorite hangouts!

Quiet and Gray

288/365 Foggy Morning Gray

I took a wonderfully meditative walk in the fog this morning.
The grayness always bring an unusual quiet to the trails....
