87/365 Leave the Light On

The last of the lighthouse series, here is the Cape Blanco Lighthouse. This was my first trip to this lighthouse. It was hard to get a clear shot and not get the Nikon wet, so I was happy to have captured the Lighthouse with the lens lit!

You can read more about the Cape Blanco Lighthouse HERE.
I hope to get the same setting with blue skies at some point in the near future :-)

85/365 Coquille River Light from Both Sides

The Coquille River light aka the Bandon Lighthouse was originally lit in 1896

It assisted mariners in navigating the Coquille River's dangerous shifting sandbars.

After a decline in the shipping industry, causing a downturn in Bandon's economy, the Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1939. It was replaced with an automated light on south jetty.

79/365 The Ultimate Snuggle Party

There seems to be a bunch of different terms for a gathering of sea lions. Most of the terms depend on whether they are on land or at sea. The term I saw the most(when googling) for what this looks to be was a  colony of sea lions...

Looks like a big snuggle party to me ;-)!
